Ingredients
  

  • 500g boneless chicken cut into cubes
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1 Onion finely sliced
  • 2 green chilies sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch piece of ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp butter or ghee
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • Fresh ginger slices for garnish
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, marinate the chicken cubes with yogurt, minced garlic, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add sliced onions and cook until they turn golden brown.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and green chilies. Cook until the tomatoes are softened.
  • Now add the marinated chicken along with all the marinade. Cook until the chicken is tender and the yogurt mixture is well incorporated, stirring occasionally.
  • Add coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to taste. Mix well.
  • Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the gravy thickens.
  • Finally, add butter or ghee and chopped coriander leaves. Stir well.
  • Garnish with fresh ginger slices before serving.
